LIPENVY

About LipEnvy

What LipEnvy actually is

LipEnvyis a small, independent, advertising-supported site built around eight free lip-care and beauty tools, a blog, and a handful of guides. There’s no lab, no dermatology board, and no in-house formulation chemist behind it — just tools built to make a few everyday beauty questions faster to answer.

The tools

Eight tools currently live on the site:

How they work

None of this is AI guesswork. The Color Match Tool sorts named shades into three undertone buckets you select. The Ingredient Checker matches your pasted text against a static list of ingredient names with known irritant, allergen, or comedogenic flags — it doesn’t analyze a photo of a label or identify a product for you. The Skin Type Quiz totals your answers into one of five categories. The SPF Calculator and Expiry Date Tracker are date and interval arithmetic, nothing more. The Routine Builder and Budget Planner slot your own inputs into a structure; they don’t invent product recommendations.

Where the numbers come from

The undertone groupings follow conventions used widely in makeup guides and color theory, not a proprietary skin-tone database. The SPF reapplication guidance mirrors the general sun-safety advice repeated across public dermatology resources — reapply roughly every two hours, sooner after swimming or heavy sweating. The Expiry Date Tracker uses the same period-after-opening logic as the little open-jar symbol printed on cosmetics packaging. The Ingredient Checker’s flag list is compiled from publicly available ingredient glossaries, not lab testing of specific product batches. None of it is verified against your exact skin, product, or medical history.

The museum, honestly

The site also hosts a Museum of Beauty & Cosmetics, a browsable collection of cosmetics history, lip-color products, beauty objects, and the people behind the industry, drawn from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. LipEnvyisn’t affiliated with Wikipedia, Wikimedia, or any person or company featured in it.

Straight talk about ads and advice

Ads (served through Google AdSense) are the entire business model here — that’s what keeps every tool free with no account required. LipEnvyisn’t affiliated with any cosmetics brand, dermatology association, or regulatory body whose conventions the tools reference. Everything on this site is general informational content, not medical or dermatological advice, and tool results are estimates, not diagnoses. Always patch-test new products, and see a dermatologist or other qualified professional about persistent irritation, allergies, or reactions.
